Golden and the campus of Colorado School of Mines are accessible by I-70.

  • Light rail is available from the Denver International Airport to Golden
  • The nearest station to CSM and the host hotel is the Jefferson County Government Center – Golden Station, 605 Johnson Rd, Golden, CO 80401
  • Uber/Lyft/Taxi from the light rail to the hotel is about 5 minutes
  • The host hotel is less than 15 minutes to the campus of CSM

Shuttle Services will be available to and from the host hotel and venue at select times. However, please note that seating is limited and not guaranteed.

To ensure timely arrival for conference events, we strongly recommend reserving a rideshare (Uber, Lyft, or local taxi) ahead of time, especially during peak hours.

A Look at the Paleozoic to Mesozoic Rocks of The Front Range: a Journey from Red Rocks to Dinosaurs

Saturday, September 6th: 8am – 12pm

Sign up below to attend the NABG Field Trip exploring the Geology of the Rocky Mountains. This trip will be led by Colorado School of Mines geologists.

Field Trip Description

The conference field trip offers a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating geology of the Rocky Mountains through guided visits to key sites around the Golden area and the iconic Red Rocks region.

Logistics

Transportation from the host hotel (Holiday Inn Express – Golden/Denver Area) and lunch will be provided.

Attendees will be selected on a first-come first-served basis as space on the trip is limited. NABG will contact all confirmed registrants – those who register after slots have been filled will be put on a waitlist. The waitlist will be cleared as spots become available in order of registration.

 
Closed-toe shoes are required. All trails on this trip are well-maintained.
 
The field trip bus will drop-off attendees at the Holiday Inn Express or Denver Int’l Airport.
 
We will contact all confirmed attendees on Thursday, September 4th.
