The Executive Officers and National Committee Chairpersons invite you to attend the 39th Annual Technical Conference of The National Association of Black Geoscientists. Students, Educators, Industry Partners, Government Agencies, additional Sponsors and Supporters are encouraged to share their work and experiences as we navigate through these unprecedented times.
The conference theme that we have chosen for this year is “Navigating the Unknown.” We are currently living through a time in history when there is so much uncertainty on multiple fronts….professionally, academically, socially, etc... These uncertainties stem from a global pandemic that is yet to quelled and are resulting in a never before seen low commodity price in the oil industry, students’ job, fellowship and internship offers being rescinded, and racial tensions sweeping our country/world. It is critical that we convene and compile strategies that will be essential for our members and supporters that will move the geosciences in the direction of normalcy. This disruption will require us to review traditional and non-traditional measures to survive so it is imperative that we collaborate at this summit.
The conference will provide practical advice and information to attendees and offer insight from industry, academic, and government professionals. As always, the NABG meeting will be an opportunity for students to cultivate professional and peer networks in the geosciences. Professionals can seek out opportunities to enhance their careers.
Sessions will take place over a two-day period in a virtual environment which will include panel discussions, keynote speakers and technical presentations. Additional registration information is forthcoming and will be posted on the NABG website (www.nabg-us.org).
